Fire resistant foams, carpets, roofing, and building materials are all enabled by heat activated graphite fire stop additives. These specially formulated graphite flakes can be inert for years, but when exposed to the heat of a fire, they instantly expand to several hundred times their original volume, providing both a fire stop and a smoke stopping char layer.
Fire Retardant Additives
Construction materials are increasingly regulated by fire safety codes to limit fire propagation. GRAFGUARD fire stop material is non-halogenated, lead and chrome free, used synergistically with other commonly used flame retardants in putties, pastes, coatings, foams, and roofing materials.
GRAFGUARD materials have engineered intumescent temperatures tailored to meet challenging processing requirements, from room temperatures to 230°C. Product consistency and unlimited shelf life are unsurpassed.
